This leap year is moving forward with big leaps!

We are approximately 60 days into the new year. You know that feeling during the first week of January, when everything is a clean slate — empty calendar pages, brand new journals, fresh resolutions on a crisp sheet of paper. And in a blur, we stand at the door of the 3rd month of the year.

Sometimes we are tempted to throw in the towel on those resolutions we made with all sincerity in January; but I say, on the eve of the last month of the 1st quarter, it’s time to look back at that list and pat yourself on the back for the small victories or headway you’ve made toward a goal. Or respectively, an opportunity to reevaluate and adjust to more reasonable timeframes.

For me, I am through the tax process (a bit of an ordeal for a small business owner) which was hanging over my head and now that I have the monkey off my back, I am looking again at my goals and resolutions.

1. I need to begin writing a cookbook, a goal that’s been simmering on the back burner for a while and this is the year to do it…empty nest, no weddings to plan, no parties to throw.
2. I am working on growing my patience. Still working on that one.
3. Professionally, I need to decide where I’m taking this business of mine…hmmm….have met a couple of roadblocks there, will be concentrating heavily on this one over the next four weeks.

So March is my re-calibration month! Oh, and I have a new toy that I will be experimenting with…if you want to know what it is and see the things I try, follow me on instagram @butterfieldgourmet!

Have a great week,
