Celebrating Chinese New Year late - why not?

My mother is from Taiwan and we lived there for about 8 years of my youth.  I remember Chinese New Year celebrations as noisy, firecracker-filled weeks with lots of food, red paper lanterns and money envelopes from relatives.  So I wanted to celebrate some of the fun here in Texas by having dinner at an Asian restaurant. We went to Steel where a fun dragon dance was performed and we “fed” red envelopes to the beast in order to bring ourselves prosperity in the new year.  IMG_4951
It was a great time and this week I am cooking some Asian inspired dishes in my kitchen.  Be well! 2015 Menu for Feb 23
